Dear people of St. Andrew,

I'm really glad to be back worshipping in the church this week and seeing many of you, in-person or online.

This Sunday (June 8th) is Pentecost - the Church's celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit. It celebrates the day, fifty days after Easter, when through the power of God, people from all places speaking all languages found themselves united. They could understand each other even though they did not know each other's languages.

You are invited to bring the flag of your home country or another country you have a connection to. And to wear clothing that represents that country for you! Alternatively - please wear something red!

You can find upcoming events at the church on the website here - of particular note, of course, is the Annual Royal Afternoon Tea on Saturday (June 7th). Details are on the website.

For those with children, or those who are children, I'm pleased to say we are partnering with our friends at Grace Church Scarborough to provide Super Squad - a week-long day camp which concludes with a trip to the Royal Ontario Museum. And it's free! It runs between July 14th and July 18th, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM each day. Please see the images above for registration info.

This month is Indigenous History Month. On Monday June 10th, from 7pm, there is a Zoom presentation titled Honouring the Children & Uplifting Sacred Obligations. From the organizers: As we mark the tenth anniversary of the 94 Calls to Action, join the Bishop's Collaborative for Right Relations in learning from Kimberly Murray, renowned, award-winning, and innovative visionary for truth and reconciliation. We will learn about the search for missing and disappeared children and unmarked burial sites associated with Residential Schools, take action, and commit to a future where all Indigenous children are honoured. Finally, this morning our local MPP's office (Scarborough Centre) emailed the information below about the City of Toronto’s Air Conditioner Pilot Program.
