The Anglican Church of St. Andrew Scarborough, ON seeks a creative and technically competent person to assume music leadership in the church, with a focus on choral and organ music.

Our congregation is diverse, vibrant and growing. The ideal candidate will welcome the challenge of inspiring new members while invigorating the music ministry of the church. Our goal is to find someone who is versed in various genres of music and who is interested in infusing the service with new and different sounds of worship. The sanctuary has a well maintained 1964 Wick's organ. The church also owns a set of handbells. Familiarity with the handbells and the ability to incorporate them into worship services on occasion would be considered an asset. The Chancel Choir, which sings weekly, is a small but dedicated ensemble. We hope that under the leadership of a new director, the choir will continue to grow and expand its repertoire, including (resuming) SATB music as membership increases.

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 8–10 hours per week. Responsibilities include:

  • Thursday evening rehearsal
  • Sunday morning rehearsal and worship service
  • Weekly meetings with the Priest-in-Charge
  • Typically, one monthly Worship Committee meeting

The successful candidate will also be expected to provide music for additional services during holy days and special seasons, including Holy Week and Christmas. Vacation time is provided, primarily during the summer months. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications including those as described in the RCCO Salary Guidelines. The annual review process will be an opportunity to discuss any details about the position and the candidate’s performance.

Interested applicants should apply by Friday July 24, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Please submit a cover letter, résumé, and references to:
