The youth group at St. Andrew's invited people of all ages, in the church and from the community, to join them for this special event to mark National Aboriginal Day of Prayer in June. Keith Nunn, a volunteer from KAIROS, led participants through a powerful reflection on the history of Canada's native peoples, from before the time when Europeans arrived on this land through today.
As we talked about the experience, there were tears and there was anger at the injustices so many experienced and continue to experience today. Some folks recognized a parallel between the experience of Canada's First Nations and the treatment of African peoples in North America. And all resolved to do what they could to make a difference.
