Dear St. Andrew's community,

By all accounts, the inaugural Summer Market was a terrific opportunity to shop for a great variety of things, and enjoy delicious food! Thank you to all who came, to all who baked, made jam, crafted, curated, purchased items to sell, fund-raised, and more. Thank you too to the Summer Market committee, and especially its leaders, Lauretta and Helen; to our Wardens; to David Talbert for doing a wonderful job with social media; and to everyone else who contributed.

Fellowship - sharing time with each other and deepening the bonds between us by serving and socialising together - is one of the most important things we do as a church. Next, we have our Caribbean Night on September 27th - look out for more information soon!

Rev. Jake's summer vacation
I will be away from the church between this Monday, July 21st, and Monday July 28th; and then from Friday August 8th to Saturday August 30th. The first week is for "professional development" - I will be serving as chaplain for a choir camp with the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM). I'm sure I will be privileged to lead worship during the camp and also lead a service project for the children, but it won't be a holiday! The three weeks in August, though, will be spent for vacation: Jenna and I will visit my parents, brother and nieces in Wales. I am looking forward to seeing them, of course, and also to having time to rest and refresh. Our church and congregation will be  in my prayers throughout this time.

I'm grateful to Canon Derek, Reverend Fran and Reverend Leonard for enthusiastically agreeing to lead worship during the weeks I am away. If you can, do try to attend Canon Derek's presentations on the Travels of Paul by N.T. Wright - the first talk is Wednesday July 23rd.

Online Morning Prayer returns in September
We have decided to pause our Tuesday morning prayer service for the remainder of July and August. I will miss our weekly gatherings, and I'll look forward to resuming in September.

Office closed on Thursday July 24th
The Parish Office will reopen on Monday July 28th.

Have a blessed summer, at home or away. Try to stay cool, and please check-in on those who you may be concerned for with a call. I hope to see you on Sunday.

Yours in Christ,
Jake+
