Palm Sunday: guest preacher and speaker

Dear St. Andrew’s community, 

On Palm Sunday, we will be joined by the Reverend Richard A. Burnett, General Secretary of the Colleges and Universities of the Anglican Communion (CUAC), and his wife, Katharine Burnett. 

Rev. Dick Burnett is a big part of my faith story. When I first came to Columbus, Ohio in 2014 on the coattails of my spouse, Jenna, Dick agreed to meet and help me orient myself to all things local and Anglican (or Episcopal, as it’s called there). I began to worship at Trinity Episcopal Church, where Dick served as Rector for 24 years with no thoughts of a call towards ordained ministry. In Holy Week, 2016, I first approached Dick with my sense that God might be calling me in this way. And through his encouragement and conversation, things moved from there. Rev. Burnett has been a pastor and a mentor to me, and both Dick and his wife Katharine have been dear friends to Jenna and I. 

Rev. Burnett will be our guest preacher, and will also speak about CUAC in the Large Classroom following the service - please do come and help us give both him and Katharine a warm St. Andrew’s welcome!
