A poem by Minnie Louise Haskins, usually known as "The Gate of the Year":

And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year:
"Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown".
And he replied:
"Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God.
That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way".

Psalm 27, verses 1 and 2:

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom then shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom then shall I be afraid?

As we take our first, hopeful steps into 2026, may you be assured that your hand is in God's Hand. May we be confident of God's presence throughout this year and always. Happy New Year!

Yours in Christ,
Jake+
